Arriving at Incheon Airport: Getting to Seoul and Picking Up Your Orcar Car

If you land at Incheon International Airport and plan to rent with Orcar, the car won't be waiting at the airport. Incheon Airport is in the city of Incheon, outside Seoul, and Orcar doesn't deliver or collect cars there. In Seoul, Orcar delivers the car to an address you enter within the city, and Gimpo Airport counts as a Seoul address. Can I pick up an Orcar car at Incheon Airport?

No. Orcar's Seoul service uses addresses within Seoul only, for both pickup and return. Incheon Airport's terminals are at 272 Gonghang-ro (Terminal 1) and 446 Je2terminal-daero (Terminal 2) in Yeongjong-gu, Incheon, so checkout won't accept them. Gimpo International Airport, at 112 Haneul-gil, Gangseo-gu, is in Seoul and is accepted.

Getting from Incheon Airport to Seoul

Allow time for immigration and baggage first. Incheon Airport advises allowing 1 to 2 hours after landing when you book onward transport.

How Orcar's Seoul pickup works

1. Book with Seoul addresses. Search Seoul with your dates and choose a car. At checkout, enter pickup and return addresses in Seoul. Any delivery fee is shown before you pay. Pickup and return locations can't be changed after the booking is confirmed, so choose them with care.
2. Choose times between 09:00 and 21:00 Korea time. Seoul delivery and return run during these hours.
3. Register every driver before pickup. Each driver completes driver registration online. With a licence issued outside Korea, you need a valid International Driving Permit (IDP), your physical home licence and your passport. For rentals in Korea, a valid IDP is required for insurance coverage.
4. Check My Trip. Your exact pickup location and directions appear in My Trip 72 hours before pickup.
5. Pick up the car yourself. Go to the address. Once the main driver's registration is complete and the car shows Ready in My Trip, start self pickup and scan the licence plate. The doors unlock, and the key is already in the car. Walk around the car and photograph any existing damage before you drive.
6. Return it the same way. Bring the fuel back to the level it had at pickup, park at the agreed return spot, leave the key inside, take photos that show where the car is, and submit the return request in the app.

If the car is delivered to or collected from a paid car park, the parking fee is yours to pay.

Gimpo Airport or your hotel

Any address in Seoul works, so pick the one that fits your plan.

• Gimpo Airport: it is on the AREX all-stop line from Incheon and inside Seoul, so you can use it as your pickup address and start driving from there.
• Your hotel in Seoul: take the train, bus or taxi to your hotel, then have the car delivered there on the day you start driving. Ask the hotel whether its car park charges a fee.

Timing your pickup after landing

Count forward from your landing time: 1 to 2 hours for immigration and baggage, then 38 to 66 minutes on the all-stop train to Gimpo Airport or Seoul Station, depending on your terminal and stop. Pickup isn't possible after 21:00, so if you land in the evening, book the car for the next day and take the train, bus or taxi to your hotel.

Before you drive in Seoul

• Tolls: many expressways around Seoul have tolls. Use the Hi-Pass lane only if My Trip shows a Hi-Pass device for your car. Otherwise, pay at the toll gate. Unpaid tolls become fines that you pay.
• Fines: traffic fines and parking tickets from your rental are yours to pay, including notices that arrive after you return the car. See Fines and tolls.
• Car seats: car seat and stroller add-ons are available for Jeju bookings only. Korean law requires a car seat for children under 6, so bring your own if you will drive young children in Seoul.
• No deposit: you pay when you book, and no security deposit is held on your card.

Can I return my Orcar car at Incheon Airport?

No. The return address must also be in Seoul. If you fly out of Incheon, return the car in Seoul, for example at your hotel or at Gimpo Airport, and take the train, bus or taxi to Incheon.

Can the car be delivered to Gimpo Airport?

Yes. Gimpo Airport is in Seoul, so you can enter it as your pickup or return address. The exact location and directions appear in My Trip 72 hours before pickup.
